Hello, I'm LaNette Boone, a technology enthusiast born and raised in Gary, Indiana. From a young age, I developed a strong passion for teaching my family and friends about the ever-evolving world of technology, promising that one day I would become a tech whiz in data technology. Graduating third in my class from Gary West Side High School's academically gifted program, I continued my education at Purdue University in Lafayette, IN, eventually earning my degree in Computer and Information Technology from Purdue University, Indianapolis.
In May 2025, I will receive my Master’s in Business Administration with a focus in International Business from Louisiana State University - Shreveport. I’m driven by a profound interest in business and ethics from the eastern hemisphere. My goal is to bring visionary strategies from that region to the western hemisphere.
As a proud mother of two girls, aged 13 and 10, I strive to be an example for them, demonstrating that all things are possible through hard work and faith. I cherish the moments of picking them up from school, providing words of encouragement, and being actively involved in their lives.
Professionally, I serve as a Data and Reporting Analyst for the Management Operations System team at CNO Financial Group. I oversee staffing and volume models for senior leaders through data analysis using Excel and Tableau, and build automation workflows with Alteryx. I’m also involved in creating process improvements as I help restructure databases on Microsoft SQL Server to serve as the primary storage for data pipelined from the front-end application system, Pega. This data feeds into productivity and utilization reports for management.
I am also honored to serve as the International Technology Chair of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., where I develop and implement technology strategies to enhance operational efficiency, member engagement, and communication across the sorority’s international network. I collaborate with international leadership to integrate technology into strategic initiatives and leverage innovative digital solutions to support the sorority’s mission of education, scholarship, and service.
In addition, I serve as President of the Women’s Business Resource Group at CNO, where I oversee Vision & Voices, Events, Membership, Policies & Practices, Education & Training, Service & Philanthropy, and Operations Committees. I focus on empowering women within the organization, fostering inclusivity, and promoting their advancement in the workplace. I am especially passionate about advocating for Women of Color in corporate America, recognizing their vital roles and contributions.
Beyond my corporate role, I am the Mission Chair and President of United Women in Faith at University United Methodist Church. The mission of this organization is to connect and nurture women through Christian spiritual formation, leadership development, creative fellowship, and education. As Mission Chair, I lead efforts to align our programs with the church’s mission outreach, plan and coordinate community service initiatives, develop partnerships with other organizations, and engage in acts of service.
I am also a Central Committee Leader of the Black Church Coalition (BCC), a vehicle for Black leaders to be architects in their community. The BCC builds power in Indiana to reimagine public safety and construct safe and healthy communities. I work alongside faith leaders, directly impacted leaders, and movement partners to drive transformative change through strategic initiatives and advocacy.
Last, but certainly not least, I serve as advisor to the Indianapolis City-Wide Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. I mentor and guide students from five universities in Indianapolis, supporting their growth and leadership through driven initiatives and mentorship.
Outside of my professional and organizational commitments, I am passionate about advocating for urban youth, helping them prepare for future educational and career paths. Music is also a big part of my life, and I enjoy creating melodies out of everyday moments. I’m dedicated to learning about new software and building user-friendly, secure applications.
Strategic planning is one of my strengths, and I take pride in staying organized and thinking ahead. I believe in making the most of every moment and find fulfillment in sharing my knowledge with others—especially when I can help someone master a task they once thought impossible. I consider myself fortunate to have a deep love for technology and the ability to both learn and teach new things with enthusiasm and expertise.
